UK esports organisation Reason Video gaming have been suspended through the ESL Premiership, approximately a week before they were due to play in the finals.

In a surprise move, ESL has suspended the team pending a full analysis over alleged match fixing in their video game against Radix Esports during week six/seven of the ESL Premiership.

The currently unproven claim is that Cause threw the game against Radix, losing 16-9 to them in a best-of-one so they would face them again in the next round, as opposed to Fish123 or Method.

Radix also suffer, because the result of the allegedly fixed match continues to be void. This means that the teams in the finals will now be Endpoint, CeX, Fish123 and Method, with the second option two replacing Cause and Radix, who've been dropped from the playoff finals.

CeX will also be apparently under analysis because they lost in order to Radix 16-5 the week before, but have apparently held their spot in the finals. Esports Information UK has arrived at out to CeX and ESL for verification on this.

We realize that following Reason's 16-9 loss to Radix, some complaints were made by other groups and people in the scene, and accusations were made.

The ESL Premiership currently follows the Esports Honesty Coalition (ESIC) Code of Conduct and Anti-Corruption Code.

The present penalties for match-fixing include voided outcomes, a ban that varies in length depending on the intensity of the offense, forfeiture of prize money and a fine (or disqualification if found before the end of a tournament).

Evidence have not yet been released by ESIC/ESL.

It appears the matter was initially designed to remain private, but Epsilon CSGO player smooya posted a number of tweets this evening, which were picked up on Reddit.

Radix Esports company owner Michael "Afro" Todner - whose org has already invested money on brand new jerseys and gear for next week's finals - said: "I think I speak for everyone on Radix in stating we're all really disappointed. The team experienced worked to secure the games these people needed to get to the LAN and had accomplished that.

"We understand the reshuffle depending on h2h but really do not agree with how it has all been dealt with.

"We've wasted money and time arranging to go to this event, hopefully ESL to push out a full statement soon. "

Earlier this year, two British Tekken players were prohibited from the Tekken 7 UK Championship for 'suspected collusion'.

Whilst he couldn't discuss that specific situation, ESIC Commissioner Ian Smith told Esports News UK around suspected collusion: "There has to be evidence and you have to answer which evidence. These things are very hard to prove, of course , but you've got to try, especially if it involves analysis.

"You're potentially removing a career, you're definitely taking away someone's pleasure and love of a particular game. "

Esports News UK has reached out to ESL, ESIC and Reason for statements, and can provide you with updates as we hear back from. www.csgo4skin.com
